Established in 1994, the College of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), one of the seven key collge in the field of Information Technology in Vietnam, has observed substantial upgrading and development. In 2019, the College received the Third-Class Labor Medal from the President. Training, scientific research, and technology transfer in the field of ICT are the committed missions of the College. As for a vision towards 2025, the College is to become a well-recognized training and scientific research center in the field of ICT both in Vietnam and in the Southeast Asian Region.
Recognizingthe importance of human needs in the field of IT and its development potentials, particularly in the global trend in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, the College has emphasized the improvement and upgrading of human resources, training activities, scientific research, international cooperation and facilities in terms of quality and scale.
Regarding human resources, the College currently has some 100 staff members. All of the lecturers have obtained postgraduate degrees, 40% of whom holda doctoral degree. The lecturers, who mostly trained at prestigious foreigninstitutions, are highly enthusiastic, dynamic, and creative in teaching and scientific research.
As to training, the College currently has 6 undergraduate, 2 master, and 1 doctoraltraining programs, with about 4,500 students. The undergraduate program of Information Technologyhas been accredited by the AUN-QAand the other programs have also qualified the accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education and Training and the preparation process for international accreditation is in progress. The College has always strived tocreate a favorablelearning environment, link training with practical and scientific research activities, train high-quality human resources to cater forthe social needs in the field of ICT.
Regarding scientific research and collaboration, the College has strengthened both specialized and interdisciplinary research (such as artificial intelligence, big data, remote sensing images, ...) to reflect the global trend and demand in scientific research. Accordingly, many research projects have been carried out or in progress with funding obtained from many different bodies and organizations. Promoting mutual strengths in training and scientific research, the College has engaged in collaboration agreements with many domestic and foreign partners.
In terms of College, currently, the College has a good number of practice / laboratory rooms with over 1,000 computers and modern equipment for teaching and research activities. In particular, the College has realized a space for self-study, creativity and entrepreneurship, which substantially facilitates and strengthens students' learning and training activities.
